Prices & planning
How much does a business website cost?
Starter Website is £795 + VAT for up to five pages; Business Website is £1,495 + VAT for up to ten. Shops start at £2,995 + VAT. Each includes a year of Hosting & Care; continuing afterwards is optional at £59 + VAT/month. Domains, platform subscriptions and payment fees are separate.
Link to this question Compare website packages ↗Should I use Wix, WordPress, Squarespace or Shopify?
Start with what your business needs: what people need to do, what you need to edit, how you take payments, which tools must connect and what it costs to run. Check export options and the required subscription plan too. I’ll explain trade-offs for your requirements rather than recommend the same tool to everyone.
Link to this question Prepare a useful website brief ↗How can customers book and pay online?
Start with availability, deposits or full payment, confirmation, cancellations and what staff need to see. An existing booking service may cover the job; a custom connection may be needed if another system holds availability. Payment processing fees and provider subscriptions should be separate from the cost of setting it up.
Link to this question Discuss booking and payment workflows ↗Do I need to have all my website content ready?
No. Bring rough notes, existing material and the facts about your business. I’ll help turn them into clear website content.
Link to this questionDo online shops have to use Shopify or WooCommerce?
No. We choose a suitable established platform around your products, everyday work and budget. Online Shop starts at £2,995 + VAT, with a fixed quote before work starts. Platform subscriptions and payment fees are separate.
Link to this questionCan I speak to someone before choosing a package?
Yes. Speak directly with Amarjit about your business and what you want to achieve. The initial conversation is free, with no obligation to book and no technical brief needed.
Link to this questionCan I pay monthly?
The website price is a project fee, usually split into a 50% deposit and a final payment before launch. If you need a different schedule, we can discuss it before you book.
Link to this questionIs there a limit on the number of pages?
Starter includes up to five content pages; Business includes up to ten. Online Shop includes up to five content pages and 20 initial products. Need more? I’ll quote for the site you need.
Link to this questionDo I need to understand the technology?
No. Tell me what your business needs. I’ll explain the options and costs in everyday language and show you how to use the finished work.
Link to this questionWhat happens if I need additional features?
We agree the extra work and its price before starting. That might be bookings, payments, a connection to your business software or an AI-assisted task.
Link to this questionWhat’s the difference between Starter Website and Business Website?
Starter (£795 + VAT) gives you a clear business presence and a standard contact form. Business (£1,495 + VAT) includes those foundations, then adds deeper service and content planning, tailored designs for key pages, one enquiry or quotation form with relevant questions, visitor and enquiry tracking, and two revision rounds instead of one. The page allowance also rises from five to ten. Both include responsive layouts, search-ready setup, a walkthrough and 12 months of care. Online Shop is a separate selling package; it does not automatically include Business’s ten content pages or tailored quote form.
Link to this questionAre there any ongoing costs?
Domains, platform subscriptions, payment fees and paid extras are separate. I’ll explain the running costs before you book. After the included year, Hosting & Care is optional at £59 + VAT/month.
Link to this questionHow long does a typical project take?
Your quote includes a delivery plan based on the work, content and access needed. We agree dates for your project before starting.
Link to this questionCan I update text or photos myself?
Want to update text or photos yourself? We’ll agree what you need to change and confirm the editing setup in your quote.

Why is my website not generating enquiries?
Check whether suitable people are visiting, whether the page answers their questions, and whether people can contact you successfully. Test a real enquiry from a phone before paying for more traffic.
Link to this question Work through the enquiry checks ↗Do I actually need SEO?
You need a site people and search engines can understand. Whether you also need ongoing search work depends on how customers find you, the competition and what you can measure. Start with specific checks and a clear plan rather than buying an undefined monthly package. Nobody can promise a particular ranking.
Link to this question Google’s SEO starter guide ↗Why am I not showing up on Google?
Check whether Google has found your pages or whether they appear below other results. Google’s Search Console tool can help check whether Google has found a page on your website. Page access, content and the relevance of the search all matter. A local business listing is a separate part of the picture. Establish the cause before assuming you need a rebuild.
Link to this question Google’s URL inspection guidance ↗Is my SEO company ripping me off?
A fee or a disappointing month does not establish that. Ask what was agreed, what changed, what was measured and what the provider recommends next. Check that you control the relevant accounts. An independent review can help you understand what has been delivered, what is missing and what to ask your provider.
Link to this question See what a website review covers ↗Should I use Google Ads or Facebook / Meta Ads?
Start with the audience, problem and offer. Search ads can reach people already looking for a solution; social ads need to earn attention while people are doing something else. First check that the destination explains the offer and that you can distinguish an enquiry from a click. You may learn more from useful conversations before paying for either.
Link to this question Check the destination before buying clicks ↗How much should I spend on ads?
There is no useful universal figure. Set a test budget you can afford to lose, decide what a suitable enquiry looks like and compare the cost of won work with what you earn from delivering it. Fix broken forms and unclear offers first. Don’t increase spend just because visits or likes increase.
Link to this question Separate traffic from useful enquiries ↗How do I know whether my ads are working?
Separate clicks from received enquiries, then follow suitable enquiries through quotes to won work. Record where they came from, with appropriate privacy controls. Review the cost of each suitable enquiry and each new customer alongside the time and cost of delivering the job. A thank-you page visit on its own is not proof of a new lead.
Link to this question Measure the useful steps ↗Why do I get website traffic but no customers?
The traffic may be a poor fit, the offer may be unclear, or the problem may happen after someone enquires. Check response handling and quote follow-up as well as the page. Review actual conversations before assuming that every lost customer needs a website change.
Link to this question What happens after the enquiry? ↗Existing websites & repairs
Can someone fix my existing website instead of rebuilding it?
Often, yes. If the site can still be looked after and we can identify the problem, a targeted repair may be the sensible option. A diagnosis should explain what is wrong, what remains uncertain and how the proposed change will be checked.
Link to this question Repair or rebuild? ↗Can you look after an existing website?
I can help with separately quoted repairs, improvements or a website review. Hosting & Care is included with new Northfaced website packages and is not sold as a standalone service.
Link to this question Help with an existing website ↗What if you need to investigate before you can quote?
The first conversation is free. If a paid investigation is needed, I’ll explain what you’ll receive and agree the price with you first.
Link to this questionCan you improve my existing website?
Yes. Repairs, improvements and provider moves receive their own quote. If a replacement makes more sense, I’ll explain why before you decide.
Link to this questionEmail, ownership & moving provider
How do I get a professional email address?
You need control of a domain and a mail service configured for it. Work out which mailboxes, shared addresses and devices you need, then choose the appropriate plan. The account ownership, recovery access and ongoing costs should be clear. If you already use an address, plan its migration before cancelling anything.
Link to this question Understand domains and email ↗Can I move my website, domain or email away from my current provider?
Usually there are options, but ownership, access, contracts and platform export limits determine the route. Website, domain and email may be separate services. Map them, preserve the data and agree the checks before making changes or cancelling the old service.
Link to this question Moving provider checklist ↗Can you help with email, Google and the setup around my website?
Yes. One business mailbox is included while Hosting & Care is active, or you can keep your existing email. I can also quote for extra mailboxes, email moves and help with your Google Business Profile.
Link to this questionWill I own my website?
Your domain and business data stay yours. Northfaced retains copyright in its original work; once paid for, you have a permanent licence to use and change it, including with another developer. Moving options depend on your platform and are explained before you book.
Link to this question Care, ownership and moving provider ↗Who owns my domain?
Your domain stays in your name. You pay for registration and renewal; connecting it to your website is included.
Link to this questionCan I keep my business email if I leave Hosting & Care?
Where the provider supports it, you can keep your existing managed mailbox for £14.99 + VAT/month by arrangement. You can also move it to another provider. Email you buy independently is unaffected.
Link to this questionSystems, automation & AI
How do I automate this repetitive task?
Write down what starts the task, the information it needs, each step and what can go wrong. Decide which system holds the correct information and which decisions need a person. A useful first automation is a small workflow with a way to spot failures and prevent duplicates, not a long chain nobody can maintain.
Link to this question Scope one useful workflow ↗We have outgrown spreadsheets — what should we use?
Identify what is breaking down: shared access, duplicate records, follow-up, reporting or permissions. A simpler process may help before new software does. If you need shared customer stages and next actions, a customer relationship management system (CRM) could help. Try it with the people who will use it.
Link to this question Do you need a CRM? ↗What CRM is suitable for a small business?
The right fit depends on your process, team and existing tools. Test a few real enquiries in a small trial: can people see the latest record, assign an owner and find the next action? Compare the plan you actually need, the work needed to move your records and whether you can take them elsewhere later, not just the introductory price.
Link to this question Define the requirements first ↗Can my website automatically send this into Xero, our CRM or email?
Possibly. We need to check the supported connections, permissions, subscription plans and exactly which records should move. Agree which system holds the correct information, how to avoid duplicates and who is told if a transfer fails. For accounts software, we also need to check that amounts and records match.
Link to this question Connecting your existing tools ↗Do I need AI in my business?
Not necessarily. Start with the task and its risks. A rule, template or normal software connection may do it more reliably. If AI is useful, agree what data it can access, how output will be checked, what happens when it is wrong and who remains responsible. The tool should earn its place.
Link to this question Start with the process ↗What parts of my business could actually be automated?
Look for repeated hand-offs with clear inputs and rules: logging enquiries, internal reminders or moving an agreed field between tools. Start with a task you understand well. Choose one step, agree when a person needs to check it and test what happens if something goes wrong.
Link to this question A practical follow-up example ↗Do I need a new website to use your automation services?
No. I can connect your existing tools. Prices start at £695 + VAT for one straightforward workflow connecting up to two compatible systems, with software fees and ongoing management separate.
