WEBSITES & ENQUIRIES
Why does my website get visitors but no enquiries?
A visitor count doesn’t tell you whether the right people arrived, understood the offer or managed to contact you. Work through those questions before buying more traffic.
First, check the whole contact journey.
Open your site on a phone, find the contact option and send a test enquiry. Check it reaches the right inbox or enquiry system, rather than stopping at a “thank you” message. If you offer booking or payment, follow that route too.
Try this from the links you actually share. Someone coming from a social app may have a different experience from you opening the homepage on a laptop.
- Can you read and use the page without zooming?
- Is the next step obvious, and does the button do what its label suggests?
- Does an enquiry arrive, and is someone responsible for replying?
Then ask who the page is speaking to.
A page can look polished while leaving basic questions unanswered. What do you do? Who is it for? Where do you work? What happens next, and what might it cost?
If a link or ad promises help with a specific problem, the page should explain that help immediately. A broad homepage may be the wrong destination for a very specific request.
Give people something concrete to judge.
Show relevant examples, explain your role in them and use customer feedback you have permission to publish. A clear explanation of what’s included and the ongoing costs can answer concerns that an attractive image cannot.
Make it easy to get in touch. You can gather detailed requirements in a conversation; the first form rarely needs a complete business plan.
Measure the useful steps.
Keep contact-button clicks separate from enquiries that actually arrive. Then record which enquiries are relevant, which receive quotes and which become work. With small numbers, review the actual conversations before drawing conclusions from a percentage.
Change one clear weakness at a time. If nobody suitable is visiting, page changes alone may not solve it. If suitable visitors cannot submit the form, buying more clicks will not solve that either.
